Building and renovating homes and workplaces across Reading and the Thames Valley
Smiling Buddha is a Reading-based construction company. From house extensions and full refurbishments to new builds and commercial fit-outs, we manage the whole job from first drawings to final clean, with one point of contact throughout.
What we do
Residential and commercial building work, done properly
One team for the whole project: groundworks, structure, roofing, joinery, plumbing, electrics and finishing, all coordinated by us.
Extensions & loft conversions
Single and double-storey extensions, rear and side returns, loft conversions and garage conversions that add space and value.
Refurbishments
Full-house renovations, kitchens and bathrooms, structural alterations and open-plan knock-throughs.
Commercial & new builds
Shop and office fit-outs, small commercial buildings and residential new builds for private clients and developers.
Why Smiling Buddha
A straightforward builder you can actually get hold of
We know what people worry about when they hire a builder: will they turn up, will the price change, will the site be a mess, will anyone answer the phone. We run every job to deal with exactly those things.
- Written, itemised quotes with no hidden extras
- A named project lead who answers your calls and messages
- Realistic programmes, agreed before we start, with weekly updates
- Tidy, safe sites and respect for your neighbours
- Building control and planning handled for you
